ABOUT US

Lydia Magazine started as a dream between two friends almost a decade before our first issue ever went live. We then went quiet for years before, out of the blue, God spoke to each of us separately that it was time to get going on this dream! We reignited the vision, and through prayer and celebration, God has opened the doors for us to create Lydia Magazine. It has been a learn-on-the-go journey, filled with joy and beautiful teamwork. It has felt less like work, and more like watching God unfold this project step by step. We have surrendered this vision to Him, may it be all that He wants it to be, for His glory!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to humbly submit this magazine as a vessel for God’s work- designed to inspire, strengthen, and encourage women in their walk with the Lord. We exist to glorify God by highlighting His presence at work in all of our lives through sharing stories and testimonies. In a culture overshadowed by darkness, we seek to shine the light of truth by creating a beautiful, scripture rooted tool to equip and uplift women.

(Psalm 86:8-10, Matthew 5:16, Philippians 2:14-16, Philippians 4:8)

Vision

Our prayer is to cultivate a welcoming online space where Christian women from around the world can connect and grow together in faith. Everything we publish is selected prayerfully with the sole purpose of directing women back to God, our only source of hope and strength. As the Lord directs, our vision is to create a bi-monthly magazine with room to grow naturally and prayerfully into other media platforms.

(2 Peter 3:18, Philippians 4:6-7, Proverbs 16:9)

Brand & Tone

It is our calling as a brand to stay humble in character and presence as we seek to glorify God with our resources. We realize this sets us apart from cultural norms within modern media. Our foundational structures have been organized in such a way to allow for anonymity for our editor panel and quieter social media representation. This is done intentionally to protect our larger goals of growing as the Holy Spirit directs, rather than conform to the standards of the world. We aspire to celebrate God’s divine handiwork in our daily living and to continually reflect the radiance and grace of our God.

(Ephesians 4:1-3, Romans 12:2, Psalm 8:1,3)

Target Audience

Lydia magazine will intentionally serve Christian women between young adult to elderly. We have witnessed God’s work through young and old alike; no story or witness is too small or too old to testify to the experience of God’s blessing in this life. Encouragement is often rooted in the simple and mundane moments of life, much like a genuine conversation with an old friend over coffee, or a faith filled mentor sharing wisdom. Our eternal hope is that this resource may reach women who don’t yet know Jesus and gently guide them towards a relationship with Him.

(1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Theological Framework

We believe in there is one sovereign God, Creator of heaven and earth, eternally living and manifested as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe God created man and woman to be in relationship with Him and to glorify Him. But because man sinned against God, he was separated by that sin in his relationship with God. The consequence of sin is death. God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to come down to earth as a human while still being fully God. He lived a sinless life and after having set an example for us to follow, he willingly laid down his life for us at the cross, atoning for our sins for all time. He rose bodily from the grave and sits at the right hand of God, and He is coming again to gather His followers into eternal salvation. It is by this grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, that we are saved and it is a gift from God. Until Jesus’s return, we believe it is our duty to spread the Good News of the Gospel of Christ to all nations.

We believe in the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman. We believe in God’s design for the family as the man as the head of his house, loving His wife as Christ loved the church, and the woman to submit to her husband.

We believe the Bible is the living Word of God, inspired by God to be written through man, and it is inerrant. It is the final authority for all matters of faith, practice and morality. The church is unified body of Christ organized through local community to seek to follow the will of God and spread the Word of God.

We believe that Israel is God’s chosen people and land. We stand with and support the people and nation of Israel. We acknowledge the Hebrew roots of our Christian faith.
